About Jazz Black

Grades 10-12

Jazz Black places emphasis on advancing student musicianship including improvisation, technique, musical style, intonation concepts, balance and blend in the jazz idiom through performance of the appropriate literature. Members of the band gain the opportunity to perform in concerts and festivals many times throughout the school year.

Placement auditions are needed for Jazz Black: to arrange for an audition, you should first sign up for Concert Band, and then contact the band directors to schedule an audition for one of the sequential concert ensembles.
